Chronicle - All‑in‑One Tracker

A universal app for tracking bills, subscriptions, events, warranties, expiries, and reminders.

Effective date: October 24, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. Capitalized terms have the meanings given in our Terms.

Summary (quick read)

  • We collect account info (email, display name), your entries (bills/subscriptions, events, warranties, expiries, reminders), and optional attachments (images/PDFs).
  • We use Firebase (Auth, Firestore/Storage, Analytics, Messaging) and RevenueCat (subscriptions). App‑store billing is handled by Apple/Google.
  • You can delete your account in‑app. We don't sell your personal information.

Information we collect

1) Account & profile

When you sign in with Google/Apple or register, we process your email address, display name, and a user identifier. Guest mode lets you try features without a cloud account; limited analytics events may still be collected (see "Analytics").

2) App content you add

  • Entries & metadata: names, dates/times, recurrence rules, prices/currencies, notes, labels, and lead‑time reminders you configure.
  • Attachments: images/PDFs you upload (e.g., receipts, invoices).
  • Labels: user‑defined tags for grouping/filtering entries (e.g., Work, Home, Health). Labels are distinct from Payment Accounts.
  • Payment Accounts (distinct from Labels): optional categorizations you add for analytics/filtering that may include account/card name, last 4 digits, and optional expiry month/year for card‑type accounts (all user‑provided). We do not request or store full card numbers, CVV/CVC, or bank logins.

3) Device & app data

Per‑install device identifier, device/OS type/version, app version, time zone, notification token/permission status, and settings relevant to reminders. Crash/diagnostic signals where available.

4) Usage data (Analytics)

Aggregated events about App use (e.g., screens opened, feature usage) via Firebase Analytics to improve performance and usability.

5) Subscription & purchases

We use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements. We share your App user ID and email with RevenueCat to determine purchase status across devices. Purchases are processed by Apple App Store / Google Play; we do not receive your payment card numbers.

How we use information

  • Provide, sync, and back up your entries, labels, payment accounts, and attachments.
  • Send the on‑time and advance reminders you configure.
  • Generate payment analytics (e.g., projections/trends) based on amounts/frequencies you enter.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot, and improve features.
  • Manage subscriptions and premium access.
No selling of personal information: We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

Sharing and disclosure

We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the App:

  • Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore/Storage, Cloud Messaging, Analytics).
  • RevenueCat (subscription management).
  • Apple/Google app stores (billing).
  • OS push services (APNs/FCM) to deliver notifications.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security.

Data storage, location, and retention

  • Data is stored with our cloud providers and may be processed outside Canada (e.g., U.S. or other regions where providers operate).
  • We retain data while your account is active. When you delete your account in‑app, we remove your profile, entries, and attachments from primary systems; limited logs/backups may persist briefly (typically 30-90 days) before deletion.

Security

We use industry‑standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest through our providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your choices & rights

  • Delete account: available in‑app (irreversible).
  • Access/Correction/Export: contact us to access, correct, or export your data.
  • Notifications: manage in‑app and via device settings.
  • Attachments & entries: you can edit or remove what you've added.
