Chronicle - All-in-One Tracker

These Terms govern your use of the Chronicle app provided by a Canada-based company.

Effective date: October 24, 2025

By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The Service

Chronicle lets you organize bills/subscriptions, events, warranties, expiries, and daily reminders; attach files; view countdowns and analytics; and receive notifications you configure. Features may change or improve over time.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be legally able to form a contract in your jurisdiction. You may use Guest mode or sign in with Google/Apple. Keep your device and sign-in credentials secure and notify us of any unauthorized use.

3. Subscriptions & Billing

  • Optional Premium subscription provides added limits/features (e.g., Unlimited Active Entries, Payment Accounts and Labels, custom date ranges, attachments).
  • Premium is offered as an auto-renewable subscription with the following plans: Monthly (base price $3.99/month) and Annual (base price $29.99/year). Actual prices are shown in-app and may vary by region, currency, and taxes.
  • Your App Store/Google Play account is charged at purchase confirmation and for renewals within 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled. You can manage or cancel anytime in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions (iOS) or the Google Play Subscriptions center (Android). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • If a free trial or introductory offer is provided, it will convert to a paid subscription unless canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective policies.
  • Features and prices may change. Any changes will be communicated by Apple/Google or in-app, and you can cancel before renewal.

4. User Content & Permissions

  • You retain ownership of the content you add (entries, labels, payment accounts, notes, attachments).
  • You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, and display your content solely to provide and improve the Service.
  • Do not upload unlawful or harmful content (e.g., malware or content you lack rights to).
  • Sensitive data caution: Do not add full payment card numbers, bank logins, or security codes. "Payment Accounts" are only categorization fields you choose to enter for filtering/analytics and may include name, last 4 digits, and optional expiry month/year.

5. Acceptable Use

  • Do not interfere with or disrupt the Service or networks.
  • Do not reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code where not permitted by law.
  • Do not circumvent feature limits, or copy, sell, or resell the Service.
  • Do not use the Service to send spam or unlawful notifications.

6. Notifications & Reminders (important)

Delivery not guaranteed: Notifications may be delayed, blocked, or missed due to factors outside our control (e.g., device settings, battery optimization/Doze, OS or manufacturer restrictions, connectivity, time changes, disabled permissions, app force-closes, Do Not Disturb, or push-service issues). Do not rely on the App for critical, safety-of-life, or emergency alerts. You are responsible for verifying important dates/deadlines.

7. Privacy

Your use of the App is governed by our Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

The App (software, design, logos, and content we provide) is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant rights to our trademarks or brand features.

9. Third-Party Services

We rely on third parties (e.g., Firebase, RevenueCat, OS push services, Apple/Google billing). Your use of those services may be subject to their terms. We aren't responsible for third-party websites/services.

10. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation or that notifications will be delivered in every circumstance.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we (and our affiliates, officers, employees, and agents) are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenues, arising from or related to your use of the App. Our total liability for any claims under these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) CAD $10.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable effort to maintain service continuity where practical. We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a new Effective date.

14. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time and can delete your account in-app. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, the license granted to you ends.

15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Province, Canada], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Courts located in [City, Province, Canada] will have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in a region with mandatory local rights, you retain any rights you cannot contractually waive.
