Privacy Policy

Short version Texpress is a fully offline app. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. Everything you save stays on your device.

1. Who we are

Texpress ("the app") is developed and maintained by ProAppLabs ("we", "us", "our"). You can reach us at contact@proapplabs.com.

2. What data we collect

We collect nothing. The app has no backend servers and makes no network calls to us or to any third party.

Everything you create inside Texpress - card sets, text, scanned QR codes, barcodes, settings - is stored only in your device's local storage. It is never uploaded, backed up to our servers, or transmitted off your device.

3. Permissions

Texpress requests only two optional device permissions, and only when you actively use the feature that needs them.

Camera

Requested only when you tap Scan Code inside the editor, and used only to decode a QR code or barcode in the viewfinder. The decoded payload is saved locally as a card. We do not record video, do not save images, and do not transmit anything from the camera.

Photo library

Requested only if you choose to import a QR code or barcode from a picture already in your library. The selected image is read on-device to decode the code; the image itself is never uploaded or stored by the app outside of the decoded payload.

4. On-device processing

Features that could, in other apps, rely on the internet are all on-device in Texpress:

QR / barcode scanning - decoded locally using the operating system's built-in vision frameworks (Google ML Kit on Android, Apple Vision on iOS).
Read aloud (text-to-speech) - uses the platform's built-in TTS engine. No text leaves your device.
Fonts - the Inter typeface is bundled with the app. Nothing is fetched at runtime.

5. Local storage

To make the app function, the following data is stored locally on your device only:

Your saved card sets (titles, labels, text, colors, QR and barcode payloads).
Your app settings (theme, font size, orientation, haptic and read-aloud preferences).
A small on-device counter used to gate the "Rate Texpress" prompt at a reasonable time. This counter never leaves your device and is not tied to any identifier.

Uninstalling the app removes all of this data.

6. Third-party services

None. Texpress does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs. The only third-party systems it touches are the platform-native services listed above (vision and TTS), which run locally on your device.

If you tap "Rate Texpress" or "Share Texpress" from Settings, the app opens your device's native app-store review sheet or share sheet. Any data handling at that point is governed by Apple's or Google's own privacy policies, not ours.

7. Children's privacy

Texpress is suitable for all ages. Because we do not collect any personal data, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information through the app, please contact us - although given the app's architecture, this is not technically possible.

8. Your rights

Because we do not hold any of your personal data, there is nothing for us to provide, export, correct, or delete on your behalf. To delete all data the app has stored locally on your device, uninstall the app or use your device's settings to clear the app's storage.

9. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the app works - for example, by adding an optional cloud-sync feature in a future version - we will update this page and note the change in the app's release notes before the change ships. We will never quietly start collecting data.
