Terms of Service

Short version Texpress is a free, offline app. You can use it for anything legal. It comes with no warranty - if something goes wrong, we are not liable. Don't use it to display content that is illegal, fraudulent, or harmful to others.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Texpress mobile application ("the app") provided by ProAppLabs ("we", "us", "our"). By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, solely for your personal or internal business purposes, subject to these Terms and to the usage rules of the platform (Apple App Store or Google Play) through which you obtained the app.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the app to:

Display content that is unlawful, fraudulent, infringing, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that impersonates another person.
Display QR codes or barcodes that you do not have the right to use (for example, tickets, passes, or loyalty cards belonging to someone else).
Circumvent security, authentication, or verification systems operated by third parties (for example, scanning a boarding pass, wallet pass, or 2FA code belonging to another person).
Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices in the app.

4. Your content

The app stores everything you create - card text, labels, scanned codes, settings - only on your own device. You retain full ownership of your content. We never see it, collect it, or have any rights to it. We have no ability to recover your content if you delete the app, lose your device, or clear the app's storage.

5. Third-party codes and passes

The app can scan and redisplay QR codes and barcodes. Whether a scanned code will continue to work when displayed by the app depends entirely on the third party that issued the code:

Static codes (WiFi credentials, contact cards, loyalty cards, static event tickets, URLs) typically work.
Dynamic, time-limited, or rotating codes (some airline boarding passes, authenticator QRs, bank OTPs) cannot be reproduced reliably by any snapshot-based tool and may be rejected.

We make no representation that any specific code will scan successfully in any specific setting. Always carry the original source of important credentials as a fallback.

6. Fees

The app is provided free of charge. There are no accounts, subscriptions, in-app purchases, or advertisements. If a future version of the app introduces paid features, those features will be clearly identified and optional; the existing free functionality described in this version of the Terms will continue to work.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its source code, design, and all related materials are owned by ProAppLabs or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license granted in Section 2, no other rights are granted to you.

8. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR COMPATIBLE WITH ANY PARTICULAR DEVICE, ACCESSORY, OR THIRD-PARTY SCANNER OR READER.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PROAPPLABS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP - INCLUDING MISSED FLIGHTS, DENIED ACCESS, LOST CREDENTIALS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR LOSS OF DATA - EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED FIVE U.S. DOLLARS (USD 5.00).

10. Platform rules

If you obtained the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, your use of the app is also subject to that platform's terms. To the extent there is any conflict, the stricter of (a) these Terms and (b) the applicable platform terms will apply. Apple Inc. and Google LLC are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms to the extent required by their respective developer agreements, but they have no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app - that is solely our responsibility.

11. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or discontinue the app, or any feature of it, at any time. These Terms will survive termination to the extent needed to give effect to Sections 4 through 13.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date above and note the change in the app's release notes. Your continued use of the app after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in British Columbia, Canada, except to the extent that applicable law in your country of residence requires otherwise.
